Who We Are

The Study Centre is run by the director, Robert Strivens, alongside the Council, made up of Oliver Allmand-Smith and Simon Green. Advice is given by an Advisory Board, which meets regularly to provide the Director with guidance on the Centre’s activities.

Director, Council & Advisory Board

Though run by the Director, Robert Strivens, the Centre is advised by an Advisory Board. The Board meets regularly and provides the Director with advice on proposed activities of the Centre and on teaching, speaking and writing projects of the Director, as well as making proposals of its own for activities and projects to be undertaken by the Centre in order to achieve its objectives.

The Council of the Centre is ultimately responsible for the Centre, including all its activities and finances and for the appointment of the Director and the members of the Advisory Board. The members of the Council are Oliver Allmand-Smith, Simon Green and Robert Strivens. 

The Director and all members of the Advisory Board and of the Council give full subscription to the Second London Baptist Confession of Faith 1677/89.

Robert Strivens, PhD

The work of the Centre is under the direction of the Director, Robert Strivens. Robert has served in pastoral ministry in Banbury and latterly in Bradford on Avon. He was Principal of London Seminary from 2008 to 2017.

Simon Green

Simon is pastor of Rattlesden Baptist Church. He serves on the Council and Advisory Board of the Study Centre.

Oliver Allmand-Smith

Oliver is pastor of Trinity Grace Church, Ramsbottom and UK Director of African Pastors Conferences. He serves on the Council and Advisory Board of the Study Centre.

Jeremy Walker

Jeremy is pastor of Maidenbower Baptist Church and author of several books, including “The Discipline of the Church”. He serves on the Advisory Board of the Study Centre.

Barry King

Barry King

Barry is pastor of Wimbledon Baptist Church and General Secretary of the Grace Baptist Partnership. He serves on the Advisory Board of the Study Centre.

Andrew Roycroft

Andrew is Managing editor of Grace Publications. He serves on the Advisory Board of the Study Centre.
